Who We Are
Every Senior Deserves Dignity, Comfort, and Compassionate Care.
Senior Care Foundation was not created as a business venture. It was born from a personal journey of love, responsibility, struggle, and hope.
Founded by two friends from Madurai, who presently serve as the Founder & Managing Trustee and Founder & Secretary, the Foundation emerged from a shared experience of caring for their bedridden grandmothers during the final years of their lives.
As our grandmothers gradually lost their mobility and independence, simple daily activities became challenging and painful. Feeding, bathing, changing clothes, administering medicines, changing diapers, preventing bedsores, lifting and shifting them safely, arranging medical consultations, and responding to emergencies required constant attention and physical effort. Sleepless nights became common, and every day brought new uncertainties.
At the same time, we had to balance our regular employment, family responsibilities, and caregiving duties. We experienced the emotional pain of watching our loved ones suffer, the physical exhaustion of providing round-the-clock care, and the financial burden of continuous expenses for nursing support, medicines, doctor visits, medical equipment, rehabilitation, and essential supplies.
The Reality We Discovered
Through this journey, we realized that thousands of senior citizens silently endure loneliness, disability, chronic illness, dementia, stroke-related complications, and complete dependence on others. Many seniors are abandoned, neglected, or living in poverty. Even families who genuinely wish to provide the best care often struggle because the cost of professional elderly care services has become unaffordable.
Growing old should never become a burden to a senior citizen or to the family that loves them.
We also recognized that service charges and margins in the healthcare industry are often too high, making quality nursing care, rehabilitation, and home support inaccessible for many low and middle-income families.
Why We Became a Non-Profit
No senior citizen should suffer because of poverty, and no family should struggle alone because they cannot afford care.“
With this belief, we established Senior Care Foundation as a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of senior citizens and supporting the families who care for them. Our purpose is not to generate profits, but to make compassionate, reliable, and dignified elderly care accessible to everyone.
